Roanoke Gains IMBA Silver Level Ride Center Status

The incredible keynote speaker and best selling author Andrew Davis gives a gripping speech that touches on what makes a town unique, and how that can bring tourism. From Muscle Shoals Alabama, to Warsaw Indiana he gives astute examples of towns that have found their niche. Why are you here? The meeting culminates with multi Leadville 100 champion and IMBA Executive Director David Wiens announcing Roanoke as an IMBA Silver Ride Center, the only one on the East Coast. Andrew Davis toasts to Roanoke, The East Coast Mountain Biking Capital of the World.

Matt Clements shakes hands with David Wiens after a hard fought victory at the Wednesday night Disco race on Mill Mountain. 40 Riders showed out in the rain and Wiens had ridden the famed Dody Ridge prior that day.

Prior to the announcement, the waiters placed these East Coast Mountain Biking Capital of the World cups on our table topped off with a fine Belgian Tripel. Whoever is calling the shots on that, gets it.

The after party at Sweet Donkey Coffee. All the usual suspects present.
